Ecotherapy for  anxiety, stress and burnout

At time of acute and/or prologued stress we may become physically ill, depressed and feeling unmotivated and helpless. We may resort to unhealthy coping strategies whilst keeping us detached and sometimes dissociated from overwhelming feelings of distress, psychological pain, grief and hopelessness to protect ourselves.

In modern life we all experience high level of stress that affects the way we perceived ourselves, others and life in general. If we experience this for a long period of time, our nervous system will get used to manage the chronic stress by disconnecting from the body, entering into denial of the current level of stress. This may lead to burnout, a permanent sense of overwhelm and exhaustion as well as symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Ecotherapy can be an effective form of therapy that helps people to experience the calming effect of being in nature, feeling grounded and able to release stress so they can re-learn how to listen to their body, recognising signs of stress in body and mind and act accordingly e.g. make a commitment to slow down and spend more time in nature.

Individual or family Ecotherapy

I can offer a tailor-made approach to lower stress, anxiety and burnout using all my therapeutic skills.

I can arrange individual sessions as well as couple and family sessions indoors and outdoors. I recommend ecotherapy as an effective way of learning to connect with the body wisdom and see nature as a friend and therapist we can benefit from all the time to release stress, maintain wellbeing and prevent future burnout.

Ecotherapy Group Programmes

I also run ecotherapy group programmes that allow to connect with people through nature and learn with others who might have similar experiences. Check if there is an 8-week group programme available.

Qi Gong is also beneficial to alleviate  symptoms of PTDS and support emotional self-regulation and stress release when practiced regularly.
